“Well, that may be true for you, but it’s not true for me.”
“So, you’re saying that truth is relative?”
“Yeah, truth is different for everyone.”
“Why should I believe that? Isn’t that an absolute statement?”
I have this discussion more often than any. I think it’s the way the world is going. It’s crazy that some people don’t think about what they believe, but just grab on to things that justify their actions.
I believe truth is absolute. There can only be one truth, otherwise, there is no truth.

When I was DJing around the country, I would try to find companies I could partner with and give away their stuff, or at least promote them. These guys have been around since 1997. Back then they were promoting their “Sons Not Dogs” slogan. They were kind enough to send me shirts and stickers and stuff that I threw out to the crowd during my performances.
I recently watched the documentary “Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music” and saw a banner for “One Truth” in a shot or two. The graphic of the hand with the hole in it brought back the memory.
Well, I looked them up and they have not strayed or watered down their message. Here’s a quote from their site:
“it’s not foolishness for a man in a burning building to consider the possibility that there is only one exit out of the building, especially if this happens to be the truth! and in the same way we want people to consider the possibility that jesus really is the one and only way to make it out of this life alive! this is not a message of condemnation, but a message of freedom and life. condemnation would be the man who tells others that there is no exit, or that there is an exit where there is none. freedom and life is the man who points to the open door and says “come through here, you’ll be saved!” so whether or not you agree with our message, this is our heart! we just want people to find truth and life and joy and fulfillment and love: in this world and the next. god bless you!”
They sell shirts, hats, hoodies, etc. with their graphics and slogans on them. I am really impressed with their passion and dedication, and hope they are doing well, so I thought I’d promote them with this blog.
Their product descriptions are messages of hope and care and truth. Like this one for the “Last Chance” Hoodie:
“…That army of psychologists with their pills and self-help perscriptions haven’t been able to help me on this one. I rarely realize it because I’m so busy entertaining myself, but when I sit down and get really honest.. I know I need help, bad. My selfishness has caused me to commit crimes that boggle my mind. Because there’s something so broken inside me. I’m messed up all the way down to my soul and I need to be changed. Not just a little, I need to be saved...”
Man, that’s really intense, and I just talked to someone who could really use hearing a message like this one. She rattled off to me a laundry list of meds they’ve put her on.
Or this one for their “Hope Never Fails” T-Shirt:
“…and i know my hope is not in vain
no matter how small my strength or quiet my shout
every bit of hope, of faith, of love is not wasted
because even the smallest victory lights up the night…”
I am diggin’ this stuff. It’s strong and unashamed.
I mean amidst shops like Abercrombie and Fitch with practically naked people advertising shallow relationships, so much so that their storefronts at the mall are dark shutters.
Have a good day.
What do you think?
1. Would you wear one of their slogans?
2. What did you think of the tracks on their home page?
3. Did you see the prayer request form on their home page?
